Background:

clip_image002_0002 Carolyn Duff, MS, RN, NCSN is a Nationally Certified School Nurse and is currently an elementary  school nurse in Richland County School District One, Columbia, South Carolina.  Carolyn earned a diploma in nursing from Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science from the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina.

She is immediate past president of the National Association of School Nurses.

Overview:

School nurses play a vital role in schools across the nation; 73,000 school nurses take care of millions of children every day and many of these children are very ill. Most people do not understand the importance of the roles that school nurse play in the health of children across the nation. Consumers need to demand that every school have a nurse and understand why this is a vital resource for every community.
