Background:

LibonatiDr. Libonati is an exercise physiologist with both clinical and basic science research experience. He has studied the influence of exercise cardiovascular function in a variety of diseases, including heart failure, hypertension, myocardial infarction, and obesity. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association (Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences), is the Chair of the American Heart Association’s Cardiac Biology/Regulation 2 Study Section, and is the Director of the Biobehavioral Research Laboratory at the Penn school of Nursing. Dr. Libonati has appeared on several media outlets (including the Discovery Health channel) covering the health benefits of an active lifestyle.
